Burn the ties to the old

“So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant.” 1Kings 19:21 When God called Elisha, he burned all ties to his past. He couldn’t change his mind and go back to plowing fields. Has God called you to do something new but you are hanging on to that something from the past just in case this new thing doesn’t work out you’ll have something to fall back on? Hanging on to that thing will prevent you from getting to the new thing. Let it go, trust God completely, and be blessed.
